Rumour: Tons Of Mass Effect 4 Details Surrounding The Story And Gameplay Leaked
None of this has been confirmed, so take it all with a grain a salt. Having said that, the thoroughness of these details at least make this worth consideration.
Reddit user Benjamin_stone claims to have taken a survey that gives extensive details away about the upcoming Mass Effect 4. He has now gone onto the internet and shared those details, and there is a lot to cover. So much, I won't get through it all, so head over to the original post if you want to get a deeper look.
There are potential spoilers here, so turn back if you don't want to know anything.
First off, a plot blurb:
The next Mass Effect game takes place in the Helius Cluster (a cluster of 100s of solar systems in the Andromeda Galaxy), far removed by time and space from Commander Shepard's heroic acts and the final events of the Mass Effect trilogy. You are a pathfinder, a combat trained but un-tested explorer leading an expedition into the Helius cluster to establish a new home for humanity. As you explore this sprawling series of solar systems (over 4x the size of Mass Effect 3), collecting resources and building colonies, you will encounter the savagery of untamed lands in the form of cut-throat outlaws and warring alien races. To survive and colonize the wild reaches of space, you will need to grow your arsenal, your ship, your crew and make strategic (and often uneasy) alliances to fight against increasingly menacing foes. Along the way, you will encounter the remains of a once powerful and mysterious alien race, the Remnant, whose forgotten technology holds the key to gaining power in this region of the galaxy. As you uncover who the Remnant were, and the mysteries their ruins contain, you are drawn into a violent race to find the source of their forgotten technology that will determine the fate of humanity.
Sounds….interesting.
I'll just break up the key points here so it is manageable for you guys:
-
There are seven crew members on your journey. Two of them are Cora, who has a biotic bubble shield power and Drack, a Krogan.
-
You pilot a ship called the Tempest that comes complete with a Mako for exploring surfaces of other planets.
-
"Transitions between activities, like flying your Tempest (space ship) across a solar system to land on a mineral rich planet, then jumping into your Mako (land vehicle) to explore the surface of planet, all happen smoothly without loading screens."
-
Loyalty missions for each crew mate and action based choices will return in the game.
-
The game's Horde mode will seemlessly be integrated into the world as Strike Team missions.
-
The game will feature raids through Remnant ruins that will give you new items to use for your characters, ship and Makko.
-
Much like Dragon Age: Inquisition's war table, there is a system where you can send off members of your crew to go complete missions that take 20-30 minutes of real time to complete.
-
You will be able to create settlements on planets to garner more influence and resources.
There is a lot more, but I would be here all day if I was listing all of it.
As I said, this could all turn out to be false, but it is worth noting that the details of Bioware's last game, Dragon Age: Inquisition leaked out a similar fashion. That should give this at least some credibility.
I'll keep an ear to the ground on this one.
Thanks to AGB for the heads up!
