Sesame Street Becomes The Hub Of Cool As Benedict Cumberbatch Announced As Host
Well we all thought it was the home of cool at a young age, and maybe that never quite wore off, but if we needed any validation, Benedict Cumberbatch has been announced as an upcoming host on the show.
Our correspondent in Spain, José Luis del Río Fortich writes:
Benedict Cumberbatch will host Sesame Street. We are all counting (with The Count) the days, surely, until we get to see Sherlock hosting the Sesame Street Show.
PBS announced the news on Twitter with the following image:
Surprise! Benedict Cumberbatch sheds the serious Sherlock to share some laughs w/ these 2 – stay tuned! #Counterbatch pic.twitter.com/SWbhLezClX

As you know, Benedict Cumberbatch is known for his roles as Khan Noonien Singh in Star Trek Into Darkness (2013) or Smaug the dragon through vocal performance and motion captures in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit trilogy. But in my opinion, his best role yet is Sherlock Holmes in the BBC´s television series Sherlock.
Wonder if The Count will be able to match wits with him? Can he mesmerize hoards of child viewers the way he keeps adults tuned in? This may end up being one of the most watched Sesame Street episodes of the decade, that's for sure…
