Zendaya, Jacob Batalon And Laura Harrier Expand On Their 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Characters

What is Peter Parker without his amazing friends? In the new Spider-Man: Homecoming, we are introduced to a good number of the classic characters from Peter's school days, including Liz (Laura Harrier) and Ned (Jacob Batalon) and there is Michelle (Zendaya) who isn't an existing character…or is she? In an interview with Marvel, the three young actors talk about their characters and what they might be like outside of what we see on the big screen.

Harrier believes that Liz is that girl who is involved in every school activity while Batalon thinks Ned is pretty much what we see, playing with LEGO bricks when he's at home and does his homework. Zendaya says she loved to embrace the weird that is Michelle.

In the comics, Ned Leeds marries Betty Brant, goes a bit crazy and becomes the Hobgoblin. Meanwhile while at the wedding, Liz Allan meets Harry Osborn who she would go on to marry…and he goes a little crazy and becomes the second Green Goblin. Which makes you wonder: what was in the food at the wedding? As for Michelle, there is a line in the movie that could either just be an Easter egg or could set up something for the second film…but we'll have to wait and see on that.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is in theaters now.
