Stephen Amell Auctioning Signed Statue For Charity And It's Going Through The Roof

For those who have been living under a rock, Stephen Amell plays Oliver Queen on the hit CW series Arrow that is coming up for it's big second season finale Wednesday night. Recently on his Facebook page, Amell brought up the idea of auctioning some Arrow related items off on eBay for charity and the comment received a lot of positive responses… that was nothing compared to what happened when he actually did it.

Amell put up this DC Collectibles Arrow statue sculpted by Gentle Giant. Amell said he will personalize and sign it for the winner then cut a check to Prayer For Sophie, a charity to help raise money for the family of Sophie Isabella Ryan who was diagnosed with a rare Optic Pathway Glioma brain tumor at age 8 1/2.

Four hours after listing the statue and posting a link on his facebook, there were over 100 bids and the price was at $20,700.00. At the 24 hour mark it was at $25,500.00 with 130 bids. There are still five days left so it will be interesting to see just how high this goes…

Amell has been using social media like a seasoned vet, making himself available to his fans and building a huge following and now he is using that following for a good cause. So nice to see. Here is a video of him talking about the auction.
