'Stranger Things' Millie Bobby Brown Auditioned For X-23

strangerthingsMillie Bobby Brown took the world by storm in last years Stranger Things but we haven't seen her have another breakout role since. That was the role that really introduced her to the world but she also auditioned to be Laura Kinney aka X-23 in this years Logan. Brown talked about preparing for the audition in an interview with Variety for their Actors on Actors series being interviewed by Evan Rachel Wood.

"I was like, 'It's going to be amazing, I'm going to really prepare,' and I sat in my room reading the lines," she said. "Honestly, for me, I felt so — I felt an actor, in the audition room, hitting Hugh Jackman, and James Mangold sitting right in front of me

Brown was quick to point out that she wasn't bitter about not getting the role and revealed that she's seen Dafne Keen's performance in the movie despite being only thirteen.

"I watched it; she was incredible," Brown said. "It meant so much to me."

Brown considers her Logan audition to be one of the best she also recalls her worst; a Barbie commercial.

"It was very awkward," she admitted. "It was hard. I had to jump up and down. They gave me this, I don't even know what it was, it was just this thing I had to hold and stand up and play pretend with this other girl."

stranger thingsDespite being an English born actress Brown has an interesting plans for throwing directors a bit when she walks into auditions; she auditions with an American accent when the director asked for her name and resume.

"Sometimes I thought, 'Would it throw people off of hiring me?'" she explained. 'Hi, I'm Millie. I'm 9 years old. I've been acting for about one year.' 'I'm so perfect, you should totally hire me,' she added, laughing.

"But that's smart," Wood noted. "You know your audience when you walk into an audition."

The full interview will air on Variety's Actors on Actors season 6 which premieres on June 13, 2017 on PBS SoCal.
