The Shannara Chronicles Season 2 – Meet The New Characters
As the Shannara Chronicles moves from MTV to Spike in time for it's second season, a few new characters are joining the cast. Where the first season followed Terry Brook's second novel, The Elfstones of Shannara, the new season is going to take the characters we met in season one and continue them on their journey. Manu Bennett (Allonon), Autin Butler (Wil), Ivana Baquero (Eretria), Aaron Jakubenko (Ander) and Marcus Vanco (Bandon) have all returned to the show from Miles Millar and Alfred Gough who also brought us Smallville.
Joining the cast for season two are Malese Jow (The Flash) as Mareth, Vanessa Morgan (Finding Carter) as Lyria, Gentry White (UnReal) will play Garet, Caaroline Chikezie (Everly) will play Queen Tamlin, and Desmond Chiam (Bones) as General Riga. The video below has both returning and new cast members talking about the new characters and just how they will fit in to the story. We also get an idea of what the story is going to be and where characters like Wil, Allonon and Eretria are when we pick up in the season premiere.
The reason the series is creating a new path for theses characters rather than moving on to the next book is that only Allonon appears in the next chapter of the novels and the series wants to show the immediate ramifications of season one.
The Shannara Chronicles returns October 11th on Spike.
