Wait… What Power Did J'onn J'onzz Just Use?

One of the best things about Supergirl is David Harewood's portrayal of J'onn J'onzz and this week he works with Kara (Melissa Benoist) to rescue Jeremiah Danvers (Dean Cain) from the clutches of CADMUS. This is all well and good. But in the sneak peek below, Supergirl and Martian Manhunter are coming up to a semi-truck with three SUV's. Supergirl goes after the semi while J'onn lands in front of the first SUV, disappears for a second then all three vehicles flip over before he reappears. The Martian has super strength, intangibility, telepathy and can shapeshift… I don't know of any power he has that would account for what he does in the clip. New power or lazy writing?

Supergirl airs Mondays at 8 PM on the CW.
