Walton Goggins has joined the cast of Marvel's Ant-Man and the Wasp. The actor known for his time on the Shield, Sons of Anarchy, Justified as well as Django Unchained and the Hateful 8 will be joining Paul Rudd, Evageline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michael Peña, T.I. and newcomers Sharon Stone, Hannah John-Kamen, and Randall Park in the sequel directed by Peyton Reed.
The film is slated for release July 6th, 2018, and follows the original Ant-Man which grossed $519.3 million globally.
No word yet on what part Goggins' will play, but it's possible we'll learn more during Marvel's presentation at Comic-Con this week. Now this is totally just a gut reaction, but he could make a very interesting Eric O'Grady / Black Ant and they're already bringing in SHIELD by introducing Jimmy Woo. Plus, Marvel does love to pit their heroes against similarly powered villains.
Goggins will have a few films hitting next year including Tomb Raider (March 16th,2018) with Alicia Vikander and Maze Runner: the Death Cure (February 9th, 2018). He also plays in the HBO series Vice Principals with Danny McBride that returns September 17th for a second season.
