What Is The Calculator's Connection To Felicity?

Some folks have been obsessed with Felicity Smoak's father for years. Even more so since we met her mother. The rumor has been that her father is a super villain and we are supposed to find out at some point this season. Around the same time we learned that it was also announced that Tom Amandes would be appearing on the series as The Calculator, the bad guy equivalent of Oracle. And since Felicity is the Arrowverse equivalent of Oracle folks have been connecting the dots.

So EW.com flat out asked about the rumor and the connection between the Calculator and Felicity. That was answered by showrunner Wendy Mericle:

We are very excited about this character. He does have a connection to Felicity. We're just really thrilled. Tom Amandes has been amazing in the role and is bringing a lot of kindness and a lot of malice to this character.

Hmmm… definitely a connection. Kindness AND Malice? Not exactly confirmation but definitely not a denial either.

Amandes is set to make his first appearance in the February 3rd episode Unchained which also features the return of Nyssa (Katrina Law) and Roy (Colton Haynes). The Calculator is supposed to be around for the following episode as well called… Sins of the Father.
