Zombieland 2 Officially Reanimated After Years of Rumors

After years of rumors and delays Sony has officially announced that Zombieland 2 lives. According to Deadline the entire original cast, which includes Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, and Abigail Breslin, are all set to return along with director Ruben Fleischer and writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.

In Zombieland 2, through comic mayhem that stretches from the White House and through the heartland, the Zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. But most of all, they have to face the growing pains of their own snarky, makeshift family.

At the moment there isn't a release date listed or when the production is set to start but considering that Sony has a big panel coming up at Comic-Con International and that was the audience that made that movie a hit Friday night could be the place they make some more announcements. It'll be interesting to see how they approach this genre since everyone was pretty over zombies in 2009.
