Rebellion Threw Us Into "Zombie Army 4: Dead War" At E3 2019

Rebellion came to E3 2019 with one major game to show off to everyone, as they threw us head-first into a demo of Zombie Army 4: Dead War. If you're not familiar with this series, you're essentially thrown into the middle of a revised version of World War II where the Germans have been experimenting with zombies. Well, not so much experimenting, more conjuring using the powers of evil and Satan. It's up to you and your team to run through the literal definition of 1940s hell to take them out and put the Fuhrer in his place. You're given a number of characters to choose from at the start, each with their own loadouts and specialties as you will be working as a team to go through each section and take out everything in your path that dares to do you harm. You know, typical end-of-the-world-run-and-gun stuff.

The first little bit we got to play for the demo had us at a train station waiting for a ride out to somewhere specific when a train comes barreling through and causes a ton of destruction. Hordes of zombies are now loose in an area that you once regarded as a safe hold, so you have to clear it out. Running through here as a team is seamless and fun as hell as you get to blast away at zombies with an array of old-school weapons that make you feel like you actually killed the undead. If you get too damaged, you turn into a zombie yourself and can't come back until a checkmark is cleared, so you have to coordinate and keep your wits about you. This was probably the best multiplayer title I played during my entire run at E3 2019. And you can watch video of it below as you see myself and three others try to slay zombies and ultimately get overwhelmed because we only kinda know what we're doing. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is set to be released sometime in 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
