Three Of Me Doing Battle In "Quantum League" At PAX West

One of the best times we had to play a game on the last day of PAX West 2019 was when we ran into Nimble Giant Entertainment to play Quantum League. This thing basically has minor esports written all over it as you can compete as a 1-v-1 or 2-v-2 match where time and decision making are all relative. Both teams start out with a weapon of choice, trying to take out the other and score points in the middle. The catch here is that you have a limited amount of time per round to do what you need to do. Then… time stops, reverses, and you are sent back into the field. Only this time, your previous self does what they did before while you take a new route. This happens three times as one side tries to score while the other defends. If there's overtime, it all resets.

The characters are designed well, the map you compete on in the demo has some fun challenges to it, including two levels of play, and the game itself is fantastic. Quantum League takes the best part of time travel and throws it into a competitive sport. I managed to win one of the rounds of a best of three against the creator, so I count that as a victory in my book having never touched it before. Which means the game is easy to pick up and learn right away to score a victory. I could seriously see this at tournaments down the road. Right now, the game doesn't have a release date, but it is on Steam if you'd like to get alerts.
