Ain't No Party Like a Walker Watch Party for Jared Padalecki
If you're a fan of the "Walkerverse," then tonight's the night! The CW's Jared Padalecki-starring original series returns for its third season, and the Katherine McNamara & Matt Barr-starring spinoff prequel Walker Independence marks its series debut. So what better way to honor the occasion than to join Padalecki and many more for a watch party of both episodes? And just to add to the incentive, Padalecki, McNamara, and more from the cast of Walker Independence will be taking part in an Instagram Live session immediately following. Here's everything you need to know:
And here's a look at Padalecki's "personal invite" to everyone to join in later today:
What's Ahead for Jared Padalecki and Walker & Walker Independence
"Walker" Season 3 Episode 1 "World On a String": SEASON PREMIERE – Picking up where we left off in season 2, it's graduation day, and the Walker family is turning a corner into a seemingly hopeful future… that is, until Cordell (Padalecki) goes missing, and his mysterious captors are trying to break him down physically and mentally. Meanwhile, Captain James (Coby Bell), Cassie (Ashley Reyes), and the rest of the Rangers have all hands on deck to bring Cordell home safely, but Stella (Violet Brinson) has ideas of her own on how she can help. Steve Robin directed the episode written by Seamus Kevin Fahey & Anna Fricke.
"Walker Independence" Season 1 Episode 1 "Pilot": SERIES PREMIERE – Set in the late 1800s, an origin story of The CW's current hit series "Walker," the prequel series follows Abby Walker (McNamara), an affluent and tough-minded Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes while on their journey out West. After crossing paths with Calian (Justin Johnson Cortez), a curious Apache tracker, Abby arrives in the town of Independence, Texas, where she encounters diverse and eclectic residents running from their pasts, chasing their dreams, and keeping their own secrets, including Kate Carver (Katie Findlay), an idiosyncratic burlesque dancer with perhaps too keen an interest in Abby's origins, and Kai (Lawrence Kao), a soulful Chinese immigrant who runs a local restaurant/laundry and offers Abby friendship without agenda.
Abby also literally runs into Hoyt Rawlins (Barr), a slippery rogue, thief, and con artist with a dented heart of gold who quickly eyes Abby as a mark until she turns the tables on him. In seeking justice for her husband, Abby encounters Independence's noble deputy sheriff, Augustus (Philemon Chambers), and his new boss, Sheriff Tom Davidson (Greg Hovanessian), who she has reason to believe is a very bad man indeed. Abby and Hoyt soon find themselves precariously aligned, both seeking to uncover the truth about the identity of Abby's husband's killer and vow to save Independence – a frontier boomtown where nothing is what it seems. Written by Fahey from a story co-written by Fahey & Fricke and directed by Larry Teng.
Much respect to Faith Evans, Matoma & The Notorious B.I.G. for my headline homage to "Party On The West Coast."
