Arrow Season 6: Inside the Episode 'Fundamentals'

Tomorrow night's Arrow shows us the fallout from John Diggle (David Ramsey) leaving the team. Co-executive producer Beth Schwartz takes us inside the episode, called 'Fundamentals', to show us Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) at an all-new low. He's lost just about everyone in his life and he's trying to figure out why all while preparing to take on Ricardo "The Dragon" Diaz (Kirk Acevedo) and his "family" of bad guys that includes Oliver's former friend Antaoly Knyazev (David Nykl) and the Earth-2 version of his former love, Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy). Things really aren't looking good for the Mayor of Star City.

In the clip we see Oliver telling Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne) that Diggle has left the team, except he stops himself and says that there is no team. And that is basically true, as it's down to just him and Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) — and it looks like he's going to be pushing her away as well. He asks Lance why everyone keeps leaving him. It will be interesting to see what Lance says, as he has become a father figure in a way to both Oliver and Thea (Willa Holland) who recently left the city.

The episode is supposed to include Oliver wearing different versions of his suit from different seasons, and Amell has hinted he hasn't filmed any flashbacks this season, so it's possible he gets hit with some of the Vertigo that Diaz saved at the end of last episode and he starts seeing things. By the end of this episode, Oliver may literally have nothing left to lose.

Arrow airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on the CW.
