Black Lightning Season 1: Cress Willaims Wants to Cross Over with Arrow
First, the producers of Black Lightning came out and said that the show is not in the Arrowverse. And then started slowly back away from that. Once set in Atlanta, the city changed to Freeland, a fictional name similar to Star City and Central City. It's from Greg Berlanti, as all of the other Arrowverse shows are. And when it came time to do the new "suit up" video, there was Black Lightning popping up at the end. I think it's a matter of letting the series have its first season… then all bets are off.
A new video just released has the Pierce family: Jefferson (Cress Williams), Lynn (Christine Adams), Anissa (Nafessa Williams), and Jennifer (China Anne McClain) reacting to the scene where Thunder comes in to save her mom from the two gunmen. Jennifer says she wants to see Black Lightning and the Flash (Grant Gustin) together, which Cress jokes would be a fast episode. He then says he wants to go up against Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) while the girls want to visit Supergirl (Melissa Benoist). When you start releasing videos of the cast talking about crossing over with the other series… yeah, it's just a matter of time.
Black Lightning airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on the CW.
