My Hero Academia S07E15 "Butterfly Effect" Review: Things Take A Turn

Crunchyroll's My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 15: "Butterfly Effect" was an excellent chapter for viewers - not so much for our heroes.

Crunchyroll's My Hero Academia Season 7 Episode 15: "Butterfly Effect" was the record scratcher putting Murphy's Law into action— everything that could go wrong does go wrong… and at the worst possible moment, of course. Because why would it not when things have gone somewhat there for the Heroes thus far. Now we do see Dabi and Toga about to have the last laugh.

Spinner manages to get the heteromorphs to charge on and into the Hospital they go to. However, Shoji's words still resonate with a civilian as he sees the doctors and hospital staff form a barricade holding hands. What is their plan, indeed? It was very heartfelt how the other civilians came out and quickly stopped Shoji from getting beaten up. Quickly things deescalate as they realize their anger was turning them into those they hate. I was glad to see the turn, suddenly it went from fiery hell to daytime again and for a second it gave a hopeful sense that things might take a turn for the best, but no.

Even with all the precautions taken by Present Mic and how he almost stopped Spinner and Kurogiri, he hesitated. Spinner still managed to stand again and place Shigaraki's hand on Kurogiri, which had multiple repercussions across all battlefields. I find Spinner's story so sad, even Stain had a moral meter that reminded him there are other Heroes like All Might. Spinner, though, let All For One take over his mind and let himself be used because that is the one thing AFO knows how to do: play his cards with patience. And even sadder, though, is that we see the shadows of Shirakumo before he goes completely Kurogiri again. It was heartbreaking and scary because of how Kurogiri could turn the tides in AFO's favor. And so he does.

As this is going on, we see how Kurogiri goes to aid his allies as he recovers his conscience. First pick up: Dabi and destination? His "dad issues," so of course, he gets a lift straight to Endeavor. On the island, we see Toga, who sees how the Heroes have managed to make a dent in their numbers and resorts to the last weapon: Twice's blood, and conjures up the sad man parade— unlimited Twice for a bit. Right on cue, Kurogiri shows up, and the destination is Hawks, who is with Endeavor as well. The tables have turned and things are looking pretty grim from where we are at. I need these Heroes to "Deus Ex Machina" themselves into a better spot in this war.
