Sabrina has found her man, or in this case, Netflix has found their Harvey Kinkle for their upcoming Sabrina the Teenage Witch series from Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros. TV. Cast in the role of Sabrina's boyfriend will be former Austin & Ally star Ross Lynch. He will play opposite of the previously cast Kiernan Shipka.

The new series is based on the Archie Comics rebooted series The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The as-yet-untitled project reimagines the origin and adventures of the teenage witch as a dark coming-of-age story with horror and occult elements. The series is being described in the vein of Rosemary's Baby and The Exorcist. Sabrina finds herself wrestling with her dual nature, half-witch/half-mortal, while she takes on the forces of evil that threaten her, her family, and the people of the daylight world.

Kinkle is described as "the prince charming of this dark fairy tale, Harvey is the son of a coal miner, a dreamboat and a dreamer, completely unaware of the dark forces conspiring to keep him and Sabrina apart." Lynch joins a cast that includes Shipka, Miranda Otto, Michelle Gomez, Chance Perdomo, Bronson Pinchot and Jaz Sinclair.

Lynch was recently seen as a young Jeffrey Dahmer in My Friend Dahmer. He'll next be in the teenage comedy Status Update, starring opposite Courtney Eaton, Olivia Holt, and Gregg Sulkin. His previous credits include Austin & Ally and the television movie Teen Beach 2.
