Happy Friday, RuPaul's Drag Race fans, queens, queers, and everyone in between! This week, MTV's RuPaul's Drag Race Season 18 carries on with feeling fresh as we inch our way to the finale top 3. The four queens are paired up and challenged with hosting a live-style morning show, Good Morning Bitches!
Juicy Love Dion and Nini Coco hosted the eighth hour, and mama, it was a drag, and not in a fun way. Juicy kept being horny on main, especially with their guest, noted hot man Zane Phillips. Nini faded into the background, which is a talent considering how loud and awful her wig was. All in all, they just did not excel in hosting, which is not only a red flag for the competition but a big one for a drag queen in general. You are first and foremost a hostess and public speaker, not a model, and to excel as a host, you need to think quickly on your feet.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, Darlene Mitchell and Myki Meeks are absolutely delightful in general and have fantastic heads on their shoulders (for more than just being pretty), and they put them to use, hunty. Was it perfect? No! But that's what the ninth hour of a morning show is for: zany, wacky personality. And mama, they brought the house down. Yes, they had fun, but they also got real, and it was perfect. Well-deserved double win this week, and we will be seeing both of them in the finale, guaranteed!
That means lip syncing for the chance to be in the Drag Race finale are Juicy and Nini. Juicy immediately took off her "best drag" costume and started flipping around the stage, but that does not a winner make. Despite Nini being heavily restricted by her (stunning) sci-fi gown and giant wig, the judges know she can do all the flips and such. This is for the finale – it's arguably more about track record at this point than it is about performance tonight.
The real nail in the coffin for Juicy in this competition came when the judges were discussing each queen, and all agreed that Juicy was just too green and needed more time to bake and mature. That's what I've been saying for weeks now! Of course, she gave us one last fantastic lip sync before sashaying away, but she was always going to sashay. Should it have been weeks ago? Eeeeehhhh….probably, but she's a strong lip sync assassin now, and trust and believe that will be put to use in later seasons and franchises.
Don't worry, though, we'll see her (and all the other eliminated queens) back tonight for the lip sync "LaLa-paruza."

RuPaul's Drag Race Season 18 airs on MTV in the Americas and is streaming on WOW Presents Plus in all other markets.
