A Big Day For The Avengers: Marvel Officially Announce Avengers World, Avengers A.I.Now, Avengers Undercover, New Secret Avengers
Breaking now with several planned exclusives, an onslaught of Avengers-related announcements, here's a summary and links. Might be a spoiler or two below:
Avengers A.I. is already getting a big second push and a drastically different story arc. Announced at New York Comic Con, Sam Humphries is taking the electronic Avengers not one hundred, not one thousand, but ten thousand years into the future.
With the new ongoing Avengers World, Jonathan Hickman and Nick Spencer are teaming with Stefano Caselli and taking the statement to its literal head, declaring that all of Earth is "under the Avengers' protection," as Spencer told us, and making that statement pay off.
This March, a quintet of teenage heroes sets out to become villains in order to destroy them from the inside when writer Dennis Hopeless and artist Kev Walker kick of their new ongoing series, "Avengers Undercover."
While Kot has been co-writing the current run of "Secret Avengers" with Nick Spencer of late, today the publisher revealed at New York Comic Con that he'll take the title solo this March with an all-new #1 as part of their All-New Marvel NOW! campaign. For the series, Kot will welcome his "Zero" launch artist Michael Walsh as well as new cast members including Spider-Woman and some sinister, shadowy players.
