Naughty Dog Co-President Christophe Balestra Will Be Leaving The Studio

Co-president of Naughty Dog, the studio that brought you Uncharted and The Last of UsChristophe Balestra has announced that he will be leaving the studio on April 3rd.

Balestra has been with Naughty Dog for over 15 years and has served as co-president with Evan Wells for the last 12. Wells will take over as sole president of the studio now that Balestra is leaving "to pursue fulfilling personal ambitions and projects."

In the statement posted on the Naughty Dog blog announcing his departure, Balestra was complementary of his team and expressed his confidence in their ability to carry on in his absence.

"The collective high ambitions of everyone on the team have led us to ship some of the most awarded and critically acclaimed games of all time. I always smile when we're asked what our secret is. We don't have any — we dedicate ourselves to assembling the best and most determined group of programmers, designers and artists we can find. Our "secret" is and, always will be, the talent and drive of the whole team at Naughty Dog. That's why I can step away feeling confident about the future of Naughty Dog — because the team is only losing only one of its many members," he wrote.

His final farewell to fans of the studio was to assure them that Wells has everything well in hand and that Naughty Dog will continue to "blow you away."

Considering how well the man knows his company, I'm sure they'll continue to turn out some of the best games we've ever played.
