Marvel Decides Who The Real Fans Are At C2E2 – No Window Bags For Comics Signatures!
Earlier today while waiting in line for Jason Aaron, a Marvel rep came around shouting at the line that no window bags, mylars with holes cut out for creators to sign in certain places, or blue taped bags (pictured here) would be allowed. When questioned why, the rep said they didn't want dealers nor CGC to be here, just real fans.
Now, as a lady who collects comics and CGC books, I was pretty miffed. The gentlemen in line with me were also pissed, as they also collect and buy graded books as well. Many collectors do window bags to preserve the grade of a book since some creators can be a little rough with them. But no, instead Marvel is now deciding who is a real collector and who isn't.
Hey Marvel, maybe it's your attitude towards fans that's driving sales away, not diversity. If I buy your books, don't worry about what happens after you've already taken my money. Just a thought.
And thanks for letting me know that you can now make a call about real fans…
