'Thor: Ragnarok' Will Change The MCU "Drastically" Before 'Avengers: Infinity War'
Spider-Man: Homecoming came out this week, but as good as it is (and it is good), it doesn't do much to shake up the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was a late-in-the-game entry, so that isn't that surprising — but right now there isn't much between the current state of the MCU and the looming threat of Avengers: Infinity War. However, it looks like that's all going to change in November, according to Marvel bossman Kevin Feige. In an interview with the Toronto Sun, Feige was asked about the third installment to the Thor movies and had this to say:
"I think that we are finding ourselves as we complete Phase 3 and finish this 22-movie narrative that it's working out that way. We did three Iron Man films, three Captain America films, three Thor films. Things change drastically in Ragnarok and then build directly into Infinity War."
This isn't really that surprising, considering that the story of Ragnarok is about the end of the world. I mean, it would mean a few minor changes to the state of the Marvel Universe if the world ends. The details of Thor: Ragnarok are still coming through, and we can expect a longer trailer either at D23 or Comic-Con International in the coming weeks that explains more of the plot.
Summary: Imprisoned, the mighty Thor finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilization.
Thor: Ragnarok, directed Taika Waititi, stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Idris Elba, and Mark Ruffalo. It will be released on November 3rd.
