'9-1-1': Fox Releases Teaser For Ryan Murphy First Responder Series
If there's one thing about writer/director Ryan Murphy it's that he's never creatively complacent, examining both the light and the dark that exists in all of us. Whether through the eyes of "Cain and Abel" plastic surgeon partners (Nip/Tuck), hopeful high school outcasts (Glee), those who represent out very legal system (American Crime Story) or those who give in to their baser angels (American Horror Story), Murphy allows us to examine not just where we are as a society now; but also how we got to where thing are now.
That tradition continues with his new FOX dramatic series 9-1-1, which examines the lives and careers of police officers, paramedics and other first responders. Premiering in January 2018, Fox has released the first teaser footage from the series which you can watch below; as well as an official synopsis for the series:

"9-1-1" explores the high-pressure experiences of police, paramedics and firefighters who are thrust into the most frightening, shocking and heart-stopping situations. These emergency responders must try to balance saving those who are at their most vulnerable with solving the problems in their own lives.
With 9-1-1, Murphy is welcoming back a number of his favorite "players" to this new project, including: Connie Britton as a 9-1-1 dispatcher, Angela Bassett as a police officer, and Kenneth Choi as a firefighter. Peter Krause (Six Feet Under, The Catch) is new to the Murphy fold and leads the series as one of the many first responders highlighted. Oliver Stark (Into the Badlands), Aisha Hinds (Shots Fired), and Rockmond Dunbar (Prison Break) also have series regular roles.
Directed by Bradley Buecker, Murphy and Brad Falchuk (American Horror Story, The People vs. O.J. Simpson) created, wrote and executive produced the 9-1-1 pilot. Tim Minear (Firefly, Feud) serves as the pilot's executive producer and showrunner. With 9-1-1, Murphy has stated that he is committed to having more female, minority, and LGBTQ directors working on the project as it moves forward to series.
