DC Launches No Justice Weekly Event in May as Scott Snyder Takes Over Justice League
DC Comics is planning to follow up the Dark Nights: Metal event with an additional event leading into a new status quo for the Justice League family of books. Called Justice League: No Justice, the event will be written by Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, and Joshua Williamson, with art by Francis Manapul, and will run for four issues before a new set of Justice League titles are launched. Snyder will write the main book, with Tynion and Williamson writing others. Christopher Priest and Pete Woods' Justice League run will end in April, and Steve Orlando's JLA will end as well, with No Justice replacing both books throughout May.
The art for these new books will be handled by TBA, that old workhorse. Unfortunately, TBA is worse than the DC Master Class when it comes to sticking around a book for more than an issue or two. TBA often leaves before the book even launches.
IGN had the EXCLUSSSIVE reveal on this story, but as usual, you heard about it first here on Bleeding Cool. Pip pip.
"We thought we knew the entire map of the DC cosmos," said Snyder, who really sounds like he needs to take a vacation somewhere with a beach. "We thought we had explored all there was to explore. But now we know that all this time the Multiverse was nothing but a fishbowl, and now we've been dumped into the ocean, unleashing terrifying new threats, and wondrous new possibilities. Metal opened up channels of storytelling that Francis, James, Joshua and I are excited to explore in a big way. When we're finished, fans will never look at the Justice League in the same way again."
"I'm laying out the biggest action of my life," said Manapul of the weekly series. "The Justice League realizes that they need to expand their reach to become something bigger than they have ever been before. If you thought my work for Justice League: Darkseid War was huge, I'm taking the League to the edge of the cosmos with 'No Justice.' Anyone who has asked for Harley Quinn, Martian Manhunter, Starfire, Zatanna, The Atom, Raven, or Doctor Fate to be in their personal Justice League will stand up and cheer."
The event sees the titular Justice League, at the suggestion of Braniac, form four separate teams with villains as members to take on a threat to Earth the heroes can't handle alone. The filenames of the images reveal the teams will be themed Mystery, Wisdom, Wonder, and Entropy. Check out IGN's EXCLUSSSIVE images below:
