Fox Renews Family Guy for Season 16, Bob's Burgers for Season 9
Twenty-four hours after what can best be described as "Cancel Friday," — where a solid number of series were cancelled by several networks — comes a little positive (thought not surprising) news on the animation front: Fox has renewed Seth MacFarlane's Family Guy for a 16th season (also the show's 20th anniversary) and Loren Bouchard's Bob's Burgers has been renewed for a ninth season.
Family Guy's current season featured a special limited commercial interruption episode and the series' 300th episode, averaging 2.55 million total live viewers (1.15 in the Adult 18-49 demo); when adjusted for the Live+7 numbers, the series averages 10.6 multi-platform viewers (1.8 in the Adult 18-49 demo).
Coming off its 2017 Emmy win for Best Animated Series, Bob's Burgers averaged 2.37 million total live viewers (1.08 rating in the Adult 18-49 demo); when adjusted for the Live+7 numbers, the series averages 8.1 million total viewers (1.4 in the Adult 18-49 demo).

Creator, executive producer, and voice actor MacFarlane's animated series also stars the vocal talents of Alex Borstein, Seth Green, Mila Kunis and Mike Henry. Produced by 20th Century Fox Television, Rich Appel and Alec Sulkin serve as showrunners and executive producers; with Steve Callaghan, Danny Smith and Kara Vallow are serving as executive producers. Fox previously announced the series renewal for MacFarlane's other series, The Orville.
