Gregg Katzman Transcends Comics Journalism with New Job at Valiant
Valiant Entertainment has announced the hiring of Gregg "Greg" Katzman in the role of Marketing Coordinator, focusing on "growing awareness of the Valiant brand through engagement with comics press, retailers, and Valiant fans" and "forging strategic relationships with key partners in the entertainment space." Katzman, a comics "journalist" for the likes of CBR, IGN, and ComicVine, has achieved the end-goal of all comics "journalism": getting a real job at a comic book publisher. In addition to his career as a comics "journalist," Katzman has also worked as Marketing & Events Manager for Midtown Comics and holds a BA degree in communication from the University of Hartford.
"I'm beyond excited to join the Valiant team," said Katzman in Valiant's press release. "The 2012 relaunch immediately won me over and since then, I've been doing my best to motivate people to check out Valiant. Their focus on quality over quantity speaks for itself and there really is something for everyone to enjoy. The Valiant Universe is such an awesome place that's overflowing with potential, and after hearing about the team's upcoming plans (I can't spoil anything or else they'll send Ninjak after me), it's only going to get better."
"I'm very happy to welcome Gregg to the team," said Valiant Director of Marketing Mel Caylo. "He brings a great passion for Valiant's characters and stories, and the experience he has working in the comics industry gives him an insightful perspective that will be very useful in his position."
"Good for Gregg," said longtime comics "journalist" Jude Terror, audibly grinding his teeth with jealousy while continuing to produce a constant stream of clickbait, day in and day out, with no end in sight, just like dozens of other helpless souls enslaved to the ceaseless churn of the 24-hour comics news cycle. "We're all really glad for him."
