According to Gallery, Milo Manara Genderflips Cyclops For New Exhibition…
Bleeding Cool previously reported on Milo Manara's new exhibition in Brussels to coincide with his new card game published by Freak & Chic PornHub, as well as looking at his preparatory work for his Caravaggio comic book series.
It also includes some of his Marvel Comics covers – used and unused. No sign of the infamous Spider-Woman piece, that has been bought for a pretty penny, but one of the more curious items in this unused X-Men cover featuring a feminized version of Cyclops.
UPDATE: Or at least that's how the gallery lists her. She's Smasher from Jonathan Hickman's Avengers. From a 1:50 cover for Avengers World. Still, it helps them sell the original art for 30,000 Euros.
They also did similar for Cosmic Spider-Man… UPDATE: Or rather, Captain Universe, also from Hickman's Avengers run,
Other pieces at the same price range include covers featuring more easily identifiable Storm, The Wasp, Gamora and Captain Marvel.
The gallery quotes Manara saying "Every cartoonist should do superheroes at least once in his life… There is a realism and a passion among comic authors who give the impression that they believe in their drawings. Superheroes is a modern mythology, Olympus with its deities. These are fantasies that we really believed in Greece. "
If anyone pops by the gallery before it closes in early January, do let us know if there are any other similar misreportings on display…
