Marvel To Launch New Doctor Strange Series "Surgeon Supreme"
We all know the story now. Doctor Strange was the world's greatest surgeon, denied his ability when his hands were crushed. He sought mystical healing for his injuries to restore him from the Ancient One. Instead he learnt the skills of sorcery and became the Sorceror Supreme of the Marvel Universe. Created by Steve Ditko and Stan Lee, played by Benedict Cumberbatch in the Doctor Strange movie, his most recent series by Mark Waid and Jesus Saiz has been much-lauded but is soon to come to an end.
To that degree, Bleeding Cool understands from a recent meeting of comic book creators in New York who gossip like crazy, that the Doctor Strange comic book will be relaunched by Marvel Comics in December or January. Possibly part of the Boxing Day launch of the Incoming anthology from Marvel Comics.
And with the title Doctor Strange – Surgeon Supreme. Whether this means a return to the operating table for the good Doctor, or a flashback to the days before his trip to Tibet is not yet clear. Nor is whoever the creative team for this new series will be. Nor whether it will get its debut in Incoming.
But we'll probably find out soon. Scrubs up?
