Will Marvel Announce Donny Cates on Thor at NYCC?

Bleeding Cool looked at the circumstantial evidence that Donny Cates will be the new writer on Marvel's ongoing Thor comic in 2020, following Jason Aaron. And that it has been set up this way for quite a long time.

Now I'm hearing it from connected sources as well. Look for this to break over New York Comic Con – or maybe the week leading up to it.

The other aspect of that is, of course, which artist he'll be teamed up with. Didn't get a definitive name, but they are looking for someone with a longer-standing industry reputation. Combining the hot new with the old reliable…

Will Donny be able to do for Thor what he did for Venom? That's the hope.  Certainly, his work on God Country speaks volumes. And with Knull and the Necrosword tied up in Thor continuity as much as with Venom, look for a little crossover of concepts and characters along the way.
