How Charles Xavier Borrows From Donald Trump for Krakoan Diplomacy in X-Force #1 [Infographic Spoilers]
Marvel Comics like to be known as the world outside your window, so it's no surprise when the company borrows from current events in the real world for its comics. X-Force #1 is the latest Dawn of X book to hit comic book stores this week, and we've already published two spoilerific articles about it, which you can read here and here. Is there room for one more? We think so.
But if you don't want to be spoiled, back out now…
Being the leader of the X-Men and ambassador for mutants is one thing, but running a country is another thing entirely. In his new role, Charles Xavier has to deal with diplomacy with every other country in the world, and one of X-Force #1's infographic pages lays out exactly how he plans to do it, employing "friendly diplomatic efforts" to get nations who haven't signed the treaty with Krakoa to come on board.
But along with the carrot, there must also come the stick. And Xavier borrows from the current U.S. President, Donald Trump, for that, relying on tariffs. A Krakoan trade war?
But that's not the only similarity, as there's an "unofficial" response as well, a sort of shadow diplomacy designed to advance Xavier's interests outside the norms of international politics. Could the Sebastian Shaw be Charles Xavier's own personal Rudy Giuliani?
Man, what we wouldn't give to get our hands on these transcripts… or a Black King butt dial voicemail.
X-Force #1 is in stores now.

THE HIGH PRICE OF A NEW DAWN!
X-Force is the CIA of the mutant world-one half intelligence branch, one half special ops. Beast, Jean Grey and Sage on one side, Wolverine, Kid Omega and Domino on the other. In a perfect world, there would be no need for an X-Force. We're not there…yet.
