96 Cosplay Shots From Liberty City Anime Comic Con 2016

It's been a particularly busy weekend event-wise, but after the excitement of covering Flame Con 2 yesterday we wanted to make sure we made it out to Times Square in NYC for the third day of Liberty City Anime Con at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. Organized by Liberty City Anime Con, Inc., the convention's purpose is to build a larger appreciation for Japanese pop culture (especially anime and manga) through panels, screenings, exhibitors and cosplay competitions developed by anime/manga fans for anime/manga fans. While it was a solid effort for a relatively young convention and many in attendance seem very much in the spirit of the festivities, for Liberty City Anime Con to become "one of the largest, most successful events to ever hit 'The Big Apple'" organizers are going to have to work harder at professionalizing the event staff; reconsider where events/programs are currently laid-out; and insure that the Crowne Plaza Hotel (or any future facility) visually embraces the event. To be clear: that's not meant as a slight but more as constructive criticism because Liberty City Anime Con has the potential to make a serious long-term impact on the convention scene in the northeast region.
