Amazing Arizona Comic Con Swag And Cosplay
Alex Wilson writes from Amazing Arizona Comic Con;
Amazing Arizona Comic Con just ended this past weekend and what a ride it was for this moderate size convention. I had a total blast talking with independent artists and writers, as well as mainstream. As most know, Stan Lee was unable to attend the convention but the convention staff that was there, along with the DC team, helped fill that gaps.
Scott Lobdell, Kyle Higgins, John Layman, Josh Fialkov and Brian Buccellatto all gave amazing panels, giving fans what they wanted, even signed comic books just for asking a question. The convention floor was full of amazing artists, local and from around the country. By all accounts, the weekend was a success even without the famous Stan Lee but he was missed. A "get well Stan" card was placed next to Big Chris Art's booth near the entrance to the convention floor.
Now for everyone's favorite part of convention coverage. You get to see what I got and you wanted.
The shirt on the right is by Cherry Sauce. The Joker, Superman, and Fight Club prints at the top are courtesy of Big Chris (honestly, one of the nicest people I've ever met) of Big Chris Art. The three trades (Critter, The Legend of Oz: Wicked West, and Penny for your Soul) in the center are courtesy of Big Dog Ink. I also picked up a hardcover of Science Dog signed by Cory Walker and a Doctor Who series 2 volume 4 signed by Joshua Fialkov. Courtesy of Omar Spahi, I received the first three issues of Xenoglyphs and the first issue of Thaniel. I also obtained the three-issue arc of Savage Planet by Dan Parsons, courtesy of Dan Parsons. Legend of the Shadow Clan by Aspen also had a con exclusive cover, which I did a review of here. Last but not least I picked up a Gates of Gotham #4 and got that along with my Nightwing #15 signed by Kyle Higgins.
And your second favourite part? The cosplay…
