Are Comic Book Publishers The R&D Department For Hollywood?

With the fact that a lot of the big budget movies hitting the theaters are based on comic books, I know that both Hollywood and investors are watching what the publishing arms of Disney and Warner Brothers are doing very closely these days… but this report from The Motley Fool looks at the over-abundance of reboots and how it may hurt the movie industry and directly affect investors. In this Tim Beyers article he refers to Marvel and DC as the R&D departments… remember when they used to be just comic book publishers?
