Bob McLeod's Original Pencils For Secret Wars Variant

Longtime Marvel artist Bob McLeod has done a variant cover for Secret Wars #3 that was revealed on-line yesterday. Today he posted the cover art along with his original pencils/inks to his Facebook page. Marvel seems to be pretty hands-off right now when it comes to covers as McLeod explains below.

Well, it's up on comicvine.com, so I guess I can finally reveal my Secret Wars variant cover. I don't know who colored it. I had almost no editorial input on this, except basically "anything goes", and have no idea what the storyline is, so I just did a big battle scene.

And on why he picked the characters he did for the piece:

I mainly just tried to pick ones whose costumes would balance color-wise and with blacks. All I was told is that I could basically use anyone, although some, like Spider-Gwen, were suggested.

I mainly just try to think who would look good where. Lady Thor was originally the Human Torch. I changed it to her because she's more popular right now.
