Tucker Carlson travelled to Russia to interview Vladimir Putin. An opportunity denied many other journalists, foreign and especially Russian. That probably tells you all you need to know. But a fair few comic book and comics-adjacent creators wanted to share their take…

Mark Chadbourne: Tucker Carlson is the Lord Haw-Haw of the current World War III. He was pushing Russia's propaganda lines all the time he was at Fox and since he was cut loose he's gone direct to the source. He's currently in Moscow for an 'interview' with Putin himself for his 'Twitter channel'. As you would expect Frost/Nixon it's not. Putin gave him exactly 23 minutes, most of which was a deranged 'history lesson' about why Ukraine should not exist. Putin wouldn't allow Carlson to interrupt him. But it's worth seeing for lols. Putin mocks Carlson for being an entertainer and not a serious journalist. Carlson, thoroughly emasculated, does an embarrassed laugh.  No reward for asskissing in Moscow, comrade.

Pia Guerra: Fair and Balanced #TuckerPutin4eva… You do realize the difference is that Newsom is a politician on a diplomatic mission and Carlson is a private person pretending to be a journalist, right? Carlson is absolutely acting as a mouthpiece for Putin propaganda.

Scott Adams:  How many of you thought Putin was "all there" in the Tucker interview? If he seemed lucid to you, it's because Biden is your comparison. I thought Putin seemed unhinged. The history lesson was not a good sign.

Jon Del Arroz: I'd vote for Putin. He seems a strong Christian Nationalist who looks out for his people.

Jerry Ordway: It'd be funny if he didn't let Tucker leave.

Gio Spinella:I sincerely hope no one in our party looks to Carlson with anything other that the contempt this 21st century Lord Haw-Haw deserves. This is face of those who give succour to the enemy.

Pablo Rincón: I like Tucker and appreciate what he's doing a lot, but he's kind of an idiot, some of his questions… Putin was surprised it seemed like nothing he was saying was getting thru.

Alex Paknadel: Putin will not stop in Ukraine. This is a lethal mistake.

Chuck Satterlee: I had a VERY good friend today ask me what my issue was with T Carlson interviewing Putin. My answer was… carlson is not a journalist. I'm totally ok with an actual journalist interviewing him. But dictators, as strong as they claim to be, are afraid of actual journalists.

PJ Holden: I think it's safe to say after Tucker Carlson talks to Putin it would still be accurate to suggest that no western journalist has interviewed putin.

Duncan Jones: "Grab a redcoat, chaps! Putin says we're putting the Empires back together!"…  The key was money. As soon as Putin realized how cheap it was to start paying Republicans off, they were done… It's why I like bringing up the British Empire in response to anything Putin says about the Russian Empire. Putin is trying to suggest that Empires are reason enough to "reclaim historic territories…" any sympathies Americans may harbor to the idea of Empire, Roman or otherwise, immediately disappear when you mention the British empire. They feel pretty strongly about that one.

John Cleese: I see that Russia's anti-war election candidate has been barred by Putin Well, at least he wasn't poisoned. I hope Tucker Carlson congratutes Putin on this

Nicholas Pegg: Putin's bot farms are working overtime today. My replies are seething with stilted tragiblurts from folk called things like Peter6374073954, whose profiles read 'I am a proud British citizen who love UK'.

I wonder if they can get Michael Sheen to play Putin in the inevitable movie of this moment?
