Dark Horse To Publish Sean O'Neill's All-Ages OGN Rocket Robinson In 2018
It's only November, but Dark Horse Comics likes to plan far ahead, revealing in a press release today that they will publish Rocket Robinson and the Pharaoh's Fortune next May.
The graphic novel, first successfully Kickstarted in 2013 by cartoonist Sean O'Neill, will be returning to print, and it couldn't be at a better time — the market for kids comics in bookstores is bigger than ever, even as the Big Two direct market superhero industry continues to collapse.
Billed as a cross between Indiana Jones and Tintin, the book will be available at all major bookstores in May 2018. Here's a synopsis from the press release:
In 1933, the Egyptian capital of Cairo is a buzzing hive of treasure-hunters, thrill-seekers, and adventurers, but to 12-year-old Ronald "Rocket" Robinson, it's just another sticker on his well-worn suitcase. The only son of an American diplomat, Rocket travels from city to city with his monkey Screech, never staying in one place long enough to call it home, but when Rocket finds a strange note written in Egyptian hieroglyphs, he stumbles into an adventure more incredible than anything he's ever dreamt of.
