DC's New Streaming Service, DC Universe, Available for US Residents Only?

Earlier today, we told you about DC Universe, what seems to be the official name for the new DC streaming service featuring television shows like Titans, Young Justice, and Harley Quinn, but also seems like it might be something more. Described as "the ultimate DC membership" and a "first-of-its-kind, immersive experience lets fans experience DC like never before," many potential are wondering whether this service might extend beyond streaming TV shows, perhaps to the realm of an all-you-can-binge comics service like Marvel Unlimited. Still others may be wondering why the media inquiries link on the new service's website links to Spark.com, an online dating site.

But the overwhelming majority of responses are focusing on one thing: the implication that the service will not be available outside the United States. The reason is fine print beneath a form where you can sign up to receive updates on the service, which reads, "By submitting my email address and clicking SUBMIT, I certify that I am a resident of the United States." Of course, the service could launch in the United States before expanding to other markets, where different distribution deals may be in place that require handling each region on a case-by-case basis.

In any case, we know very little about what this "ultimate membership" will offer, though Bleeding Cool has reached out to DC's online dating service account, DC@spark.com, for more info. We'll let you know if we find out anything more.
