Edward Scissorhands #4 Is Endearing And Captivating

eb7b0a4a96a522b9adb77b7e0a84c7a3_xlI honestly can't rave about this comic enough. Edward Scissorhands #4 from IDW Publishing, written by Kate Leth, with art by Drew Rausch continues the heartfelt epic story between Megs, Edward, and the mischievous Eli. After a boy goes missing, Megs takes things into her own hands to find out what really happened. Already having formed a strong bond with Edward, she turns to him for help, but his fear of what people will think of him prevents him from leaving his home. That particular scene really tugged at my heartstrings. As you can see below, the emotion of what happened to Edward in the past with Kim has truly scarred him. What's sweet about his relationship with Megs is, she doesn't pressure him at all. She understands completely. Try and tell me that your heart doesn't melt when you look at the two of them together…

IMG_8733Therefore, Megs ventures out on her own to spread the word about Eli. Because of this, we get to spend a lot of time with her character and witness how brave and courageous she's being. Since Issue #1 she has been growing emotionally and taking charge of her life. You will see as the issue progresses that it doesn't matter what people say or what they do, she sticks to her beliefs no matter what. Kate Leth's script is endearing and captivating, with just the right amount horrific moments to make you cringe. Those of course deal with Edwards' devious counterpart, Eli. I'll refrain from spoiling what happens with him in this issue, so you can feel the same way I did when you read it. Rausch's art style continues to have that gloomy bizarre Tim Burton-esque feel that I adore more and more as the story continues. Issue #4 ends with a controversy that you don't want to miss! I can't wait to see what's in store for Edward Scissorhands #5!
