Has Batman #86 Still 86'ed Alfred Pennyworth? (Spoilers)
Batman #86. New writers, editors, artists, we can all forget about what some saw as those stylistic excesses of Tom King for the past four years of Batman. No more discussions of whether it was the roof, the boat or the beach, no more Kite-Man hell yeahs, no more punching people with POWs, no more Hanna-Barbera cartoons finding a home in Gotham, no more running through the rogue list in order, one panel at a time, and no more indication that Batman is going to die, and that this is all one story. Oh and no more overpresent Bane or Thomas Wayne. Their presence has been exorcised from the comic with the coming of James Tynion IV, Tony S Daniel and Danny Miki, to Bob Harras' approval.
Oh wait though, there was that one thing…
No. More. Alfred Pennyworth. I was rather reminded of this…
For similar reasons…
Still… there is architecture. Lots and lots of architecture…
Batman #86 is out today from DC Comics… I bought mine from Piranha Comics in Kingston-Upon-Thames. Piranha Comics is a small south London comic store chain with a small south-east store in Kingston-Upon Thames's market centre, which runs Magic The Gathering nights on Fridays, and a larger south-west store in Bromley, which also runs Magic nights and has an extensive back issue collection and online store. If you are in the neighbourhood, check them out.
