In Play Cosmic Trigger, Alan Moore Will Be The Voice Of An A.I. Supercomputer

John Higgs, the author of The KLF: Chaos, Magic and the Band Who Burned A Million Pounds, a book which includes a chapter about Alan Moore, recently visited Moore in Northampton, and in the meantime secured Moore's agreement to read the lines for FUCKUP, an "artificially intelligent supercomputer which predicts Armageddon by use of the I Ching" who appears as a character in The Illuminatus Trilogy by Robert Anton Wilson.

The reasoning behind this is a little elaborate so here's the breakdown: Ken Campbell once staged a play, Illuminatus! based on the Illuminatus Trilogy, and in that play, John Gielgud (later Sir John Gielgud) played the voice of the supercomputer. Now, Daisy Eris Campbell, Ken Campbell's daughter, is launching a crowdfunding campaign to stage a play called Cosmic Trigger, and Cosmic Trigger contains within it scenes from the staging of Illuminatus! Someone needs to step into the Gielgud role as the supercomputer, and Moore kindly agreed to do the recorded lines, according to Higgs.

But Higgs also recorded a video interview with Moore on the subject of Robert Anton Wilson, which will be screened February 23rd in Liverpool as part of a series of events connected to the crowdfunding campaign for Cosmic Trigger. So if you want to see that interview screened, and take part in related talks and events, get yourself to Liverpool on the night in question and you can book your rather affordable 5 pound tickets here.
