Kieron Gillen – The Ossification Of The Novel

Okay, it's a bit faint. You may need headphones. But here's just a snippet of Kieron Gillen, Jessica Martin, Paul Cornell and Rachael Stott talking at at Oribital Comics with Chris Thompson for the relaunch of the Comic Heroes magazine.

It was most entertaining – possibly the highlight may have been Kieron Gillen stating that the "novel" as an artform was structurally ossified, whereas comics were not.

It caused a little kerfuffle on and off-line, interpreted as him saying that the novel was ossified, when it was only the form. Also he just likes to use the word "ossify".

Still, as Kieron also likes to say, "print the myth."

So there you go. Kieron says the novel is ossified. It's official. Look for that to be quoted when he announces his first.
