Mike Mignola's First Hellboy From 1991 Sells For $5000 on eBay
In 1991, Mike Mignola attended the Great Salt Lake Comic Convention and a short biography appeared of him in the convention booklet.
It also featured a sketch of a new character.
This was the first published Hellboy drawing, something that would be redesigned and reshaped into the character that would launch the Legends line from Dark Horse Comics, and lead to cartoons, games and three major movies.
And a copy just sold on eBay for $5000 – a copy with a chunk taken out of the cover.
