Peanuts #28 Eclipses Expectations
KaBOOM!, the all-ages imprint of award winning publisher BOOM! Studios brings us another fun issue of Peanuts this month chock full of Classic Peanut Strips, fun illustrations, and, three stories: Studs, written by Charles M. Schulz, adapted by Jason Cooper, with art by Vicki Scott, Sunny Disposition, written by Jeff Dyer, with art by Scott Jeralds, and Happy Any Day, written by Charles M. Schulz, with art by Paige Braddock. Each story has its own bit of Charlie Brown goodness to offer, but the main story, focuses on the arrival of an eclipse, and all that Linus does to prepare the gang for it.
I think what's so great about KaBOOM! putting out this book is, you really get a taste for what the Peanuts are all about. Between modifying the old, adding in the classics, and writing new tales, the creative team puts together a great compilation of content. For example, because I've seen so many of Charles M. Schulz strips in the past, sometimes I'm in the mood for something different. (I hope I'm not struck down by creative lightning right now.) So, when I get a chance to see some fresh new illustrations with a witty bubbly story attached, I'm a happy reader. My point is, this book has a lot to offer. I've mentioned before how kid-friendly it is, and I'll say it again. If you have a youngster at home looking to get into comics, you should definitely grab this one. Be sure to pick up Peanuts #28 today.
