Seattle is probably best known as an exporter of coffee, airplanes, music, and Microsoft products. It looks like costumed crime-fighters can now be added to that list. Internationally known real life superhero, Phoenix Jones, leader of the Rain City Superhero Movement, posted the following announcement on his Facebook page:
HERE IS MY BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
I WILL BE LIVE ON THE UK SHOW 'THIS MORNING' ON ITV THIS FRIDAY AT 9 PM LONDON TIME, ANNOUNCING THAT… THE RCSM IS GOING INTERNATIONAL!
I WILL BE STARTING A UK DIVISION OF THE RCSM LEAD BY RED FALCON. HE IS A GOOD STRONG LEADER AND WILL REPRESENT THE TEAM WELL. I HAVE ALSO EQUIPPED HIM WITH THE LATEST LEGAL CRIME FIGHTING GEAR AS WELL AS BULLET AND STAB RESISTANT PLATING.
COUNT ZERO WILL BE HEADING UP MY ARIZONA DIVISION. MIDNIGHT JACK AND I PERSONALLY TRAINED HIM AND HE IS VERY TALENTED AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.
PUMA WILL BE HEADING UP MY DUBAI DIVISION. HIS ROLE AND PLANS MUST BE KEPT CLOSE TO THE VEST CONSIDERING THE LAWS IN DUBAI ARE VERY DIFFERENT.
I AM TRYING TO TALK HARBINGER INTO RUNNING MY CALIFORNIA DIVISION. WE HAVE TEAMS BEING SET UP IN SOUTH AFRICA, AUSTRALIA, AND NEW ZEALAND. I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED.
It's 9am, obviously. I started to ponder how much this plan reminds me of something straight out of the pages of Batman Incorporated. The Rain City Superhero Movement has been a very polarizing force amongst the citizens of Seattle. Love them or hate them, having costumed crime-fighters running around the city is definitely entertaining. Who knows, maybe a new chapter of the RCSM will be opening in your city soon too.
Rich adds – I live in London, I'd sign up if I wasn't, you know, overweight, unfit and a big girl's blouse.
