PS Artbooks Softee Diamond Solicits August 2020; A Golden Age Treat

Want to read some classic Golden Age comics, but don't want to spend the money on buying original issues? PS Artbooks has been solving that problem for fans of that era for some time now, and in this week's Diamond solicits, fans will get to read even more into their favorite Golden Ager comics. You may even stumble across new titles you never knew about before!

Ready to dive into the second volume of the PS Artbooks Softee Planet Comic series? This softcover book collects issues 4-6 of the popular Fiction House title, which issues were printed between April-June of 1940. Writers and artists included are Charles Sultan, Arthur Peddy, Bob Powell, Alex Blum, Henry Kiefer, Will Eisner, Don Rico, Nick Cardy, Gene Fawcette, and Charles Quinlan. You'll have loads of intergalactic fun with this volume, without having to break the bank. You can order your copy through your local comic book shop. Books are expected to be in-store October 7, 2020, and will retail for $24.99.

Want to read some classic pre-code horror? The Phantom Witch Doctor should be on your list. This one-shot comic from Avon Magazine follows George Harcourt, who murders a local witch doctor — M'Basi. Harcourt doesn't stop there either; he also murders Naba, the witch doctor's daughter. Will this inevitably come back to haunt him? This softcover collection also features another one shot, Night of Mystery, as well as Beware issues #10-12. These pre-code horror stories will delight and freight, but these are probably best suited for older readers. Horror fans can pick this book up from their local comic book shop on August 26, 2020, for $24.99.
