Punisher: Platoon Changes Its Rating – And Its Digital Download Offering
Having Marvel return the "Buy Physical Get Digital" offering for its comics, so print buyers can get a digital download of that comic included in the price has done much to justify the $3.99-$4.99 standard price of its comics. That's when you can get them to work and I can feel another article about that coming on.
But first, it seems that Punisher: Platoon by Garth Ennis and Goran Parlov has fallen foul of this promise. It was solicited with a digital download included, but between solicitation and upcoming publication, it changed its rating from Parental Advisory to Explicit Content. And Marvel don't allow explicit content titles to be downloaded from its App.
So instead, Punisher: Platoon physical customers will have to be placated by a free digital download of Deadpool Vs The Punisher by Fred Van Lente and Pere Perez.
By the time the Punisher was born in Vietnam, Frank Castle had already become a dark legend of the battlefield. Stories about him were told in whispers, if at all. Now the legendary Punisher team of Garth Ennis and Goran Parlov (PUNISHER MAX, FURY MAX) brings the first of those stories to light: the tale of Frank Castle's first command, and his first kill. Don't miss this epic new series!
Punisher: Platoon #1 is out on the 4th October.
