Captain Underpants' Tighty-Whiteys Set For Big Screen
When I was really little, I thought Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants book series was fun. It starred two Calvin-esque mischief-makers who, through a series of wacky coincidences, turn their stern school principal into Captain Underpants whenever he hears someone snapping their fingers.
Captain Underpants… well, he saved little old ladies, conquered evil aliens masquerading as cafeteria ladies, and in general was a force of Good. But, y'know– without trousers. And with a lot of farting jokes.
Not sure how many kids still read the books, but apparently studios have been trying to acquire the rights for a while now, and according to Deadline, DreamWorks just won the bid.
Good news for the under-10 set, possibly bad news for their parents. Let's just pray it isn't in Smell-o-vision.
