First Look At Mads Mikkelsen As Hannibal Lecter In Bryan Fuller's NBC Series
Patrick Dane writes for Bleeding Cool
Mads Mikkelsen is on somewhat of a roll at the moment. His new movie, The Hunt is great, it won him the Best Actor Award at this years Cannes, and he is next about to headline in his own TV show. Hannibal, from showrunner by Pushing Daisies' Bryan Fuller, is a prequel TV series based around the man's misadventures before he became incarcerated.
These photos, scanned by Le Blog Du Cine (via The Playlist) offer us our first look at Mikkelsen looking all creepy. We also get pictures of Lawrence Fishburne and Hugh Dancy as Jack Crawford and Hannibal's nemesis, Will Graham.
At one point Fuller suggested that the show would be about Lecter before he became a monster and a villain, so he didn't feel the need to ramp up his villainy. That if we didn't know what he turns into, we wouldn't know it was coming. So judging from that, these pictures must come towards the end of the series because this does all look pretty Lecter-esque. That or he is just staring down at any old meat, which I suppose isn't out the realms of possibility if they are just foreshadowing his eventual diet.
The show should be hitting in Spring 2013 so we shall be finding out then.
