Special Preview And Trailer For Titan's Weirding Willows – Alice Is All Grown Up In A Multi-Fiction World

The Weirding Willows, a 104 page full-color graphic novels is reaching stores July 1st from Titan Comics, and having seen it, I can say it is a work of massive scope and imagination. Writer Dave Elliot (of A1 Comics) has been percolating this idea for a long while, and the basic premise is that Alice of Lewis Caroll's Alice in Wonderland, age 18, moves in a world replete with the characters of many of our favorite turn of the century fantasy books from the Island of Doctor Moreau to The Wind in the Willows, Frankenstein, and much much more. And Elliot's concept of how to interlock these different realities within the framework of a "Wonderland" is fairly ingenious. The artwork is also lovely and sets the tone for high adventure with humorous and dark elements very well.

Titan describes the book thus:

The Weirding Willows is the ultimate literature pop culture mash-up featuring classic characters such as Alice from Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Caroll, Damon Frankenstein from Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Mole, Ratty, Mr Toad and Mr Badger from The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, The Wicked Witch of the West from The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum, Dr. Henry Jekyll from Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson, and many more!
