New Footage And More Jennifer Lawrence In First TV Spot For David O. Russell's American Hustle

It's an interesting direction to take, marketing American Hustle as a comedy, but here we are. The newest TV spot for David O. Russell's latest reiterates the comedic tone of the film, though whispers from test screenings thus far have indicated it's actually very much a drama (and it will compete in Drama at the Golden Globes, for what that's worth).

A mix of both was shown at Russell's special tribute at the AFI Film Festival last week. Amid technical difficulties that set the director on edge all night, the first six minutes from the film were screened, featuring Christian Bale in yet another incredible physical transformation with one truly epic comb-over.

Amy Adams, Jeremy Renner and Bradley Cooper all featured in the opening scene wholly transformed too, with accents and all, but as this new TV spot showcases, Jennifer Lawrence is poised for another scene-stealing turn – and perhaps another Oscar nomination?

American Hustle sits firmly atop my most anticipated films of the year list – only a month to go!
